Mr. Yosef Ashdot (also goes by “Joe”) has been operating a moving company under the legal name “A Class Moving Inc.” since early 2000s; however, his company he has had their insurance and registration revoked MULTIPLE times over the years. Each time, Mr. Ashdot has re-branded under a new name (currently he using the DBA name: Southeast Van Lines). Essentially, a new name/brand, but the same unprofessional and dangerous services. If you research him and A Class Moving Inc., you’ll also find multiple complaints and investigations into his business practices including price gauging, misleading advertising, not honoring binding quotes, stealing personal property, significant damage to property, lack of communication, etc. Below are a few highlights of the issues I’ve experienced: – I was provided an original quote several months before the move based on the inventory I provided the sales rep over (Ms. Lauren Taylor) the phone at that time, but I was told I could update that inventory prior to the move. I attempted several attempts to call the Ms. Taylor and left multiple messages trying update the inventory, but never received a call back. When the movers arrived, it wasn’t until after the truck was loaded that Mr. Ashdot told me they increased the quote due to additional inventory not originally captured. – Included in my contract was for the movers to disassemble and wrap/protect all furniture; however, several pieces were transported and delivered unwrapped and therefore sustained damage in the process. Additionally, several pieces that were wrapped by the movers were delivered with damage beyond repair. – Multiple boxes were crushed and/or broken open when they were delivered. Due to this, there were multiple items within those boxes that were broken/damaged beyond repair. It is apparent that Mr. Ashdot is running a fraudulent moving company based on the number of complaints he’s received with FMCSA and the frequency with which he has had his insurance revoked and/or has changed the name of his company. There are numerous reviews, videos, articles online detailing the issues customers have experienced when contracting with one of his companies.

The moving team from Southeast van lines was extremely meticulous and took a lot of time in ensuring all my things were packed and stored well. We loved your work and we will certainly recommend your service to all friends and family.

Just recently graduated and decided to relocate for my dream job. The driver and his two man crew arrived and were great from start to finish. They were able to pack and load all of my items within a few hours and I received their personal cell phone numbers to communicate with them throughout the trip. They arrived on time as expected and unloaded all of my items into my brand new apartment. I had a few minor damaged items which were later handled by their claims department. Overall I would rate them 5 out of 5 stars.

BEWARE!! SCAMMERS, LIARS, DISHONEST, THIEVES, PROFESSIONAL CON ARTISTS. Received reasonable quote and good customer service from their sales person Lauren who turned out to be an outside contractor with her own company representing several companies. She disappeared on moving day along with all of her assurances and guarantees. I provided 14 videos detailing all of my belongings for the quote. Movers arrived in an old run-down truck and began loading my things. Within an hour I was told that I had to pay an additional $900 due to the number of boxes. After much discussion, during which I realized I was being scammed, I told them to unload my things. Then they tried to negotiate the price. I refused their service, tried to get in touch with Lauren without success, and spoke to the owner, Josef, who was rude, unapologetic, derogatory, and unprofessional. After the movers left, I found that my jewelry had been stolen and filed a police report. The theft is still under investigation. I was forced to delay my out-of-state move, rent a truck, locate a driver (moving companies were sold out), and enlist the help of family and friends to load the truck. I was completely abandoned at a very stressful and crucial time and would NEVER recommend this company to anyone!!

I just wanted to say a big thanks to Southeast van lines! Best move I have ever had! They were very professional and made me feel like they knew what they were talking about. All my furniture arrived undamaged which is a HUGE thing for me because my things always get damaged during my moves but not this time. I highly recommend this company for any move! They did a great job!!

After working for the company for 20 years, I lost my job for some issues. I was so upset and frustrated. I used to live in a big apartment but it was quite depressing for me to leave that luxurious apartment for a budget crunch. I just hired Southeast van lines as their quote was affordable for me to move into my family home all the way across the country. I was not expecting good services from them but shockingly they did everything beyond my imagination. Even they did some extra packing for me without any extra charge. They were very friendly and affordable. The movers were great. I wish them best of luck.

I had the most pleasant experience with this moving company. I hired them last month to move me cross country. Their sales rep is a stunning guy! He explained everything to me in detail and he also gave me a good deal. I am very thankful for that. He also sent a great team who knew what to do and how to do it. I enjoyed working with them because they were very friendly. And as a result, they gave me a damage free move. I would love to hire Southeast van lines again.

I had to switch my move time 3 times. Southeast van lines ALWAYS answered my call within a few rings, changed the date and time with no penalty, and were always very polite and helpful! I am a single female moving, so I was nervous. The crew was professional, timely, had a great attitude, and did not scratch, dent, or break anything (and I have a lot of stuff)! When we found out the move-in was up a steep hill and around the corner even farther, they gave me no trouble at all but rather their positive attitude was contagious and made the move way less stressful for me.

The customer care person will give you a great promise and when the actual packers come they double the charges. Items were damaged. I had never seen such fraud and cheaters in my life

I’ve had to move several times, and believe me, it is a big hassle. Very often companies bring rude workers and furniture gets damaged or broken. I always tried to avoid it. Last time, however, I moved from PA to GA and I used the Southeast van lines. It was the best choice I’ve ever made. The employees were so friendly and helpful. They were kind to my family and careful with the furniture. Moving was not a hassle at all, and no furniture got damaged at all. I would definitely recommend this moving company to my friends or family if asked.

This was my second move with Southeast van lines and once again, the move was spotless!! Everything I entrusted on them, they delivered in good condition, and timely so. I recommend them. You know, I suggested them to my good friend McDowell? It is because they were suggested to me by my father when I moved from GA to MD and they did not let me down. Their crew was awesome, and I had no problem whatsoever. I know McDowell will thank me later! I have to give Southeast van lines a deserved shout out! All my belongings were moved without any incident and I appreciate it very much. Keep up the good work!

They covered whatever meticulously; none of my furniture was damaged! Discharging was also extremely great. They were practically as rapid during discharging and filling. They did take a brief 20 minute break on the way to the new residence yet I was not charged for that. They did a fantastic task and their cost was extremely budgeting friendly as well as affordable!

All I can say about Southeast van lines uncomplicated, reliable, flexible, skilled, and affordable. The movers were qualified packers and packed my sensitive items so carefully that nothing was damaged throughout the entire ride. I was very impressed by their attention to details. All belongings were delivered on time. The moving team labeled each box so accurately that I didn’t have to mess up searching any item. Delivery was within the window and they contacted me prior to delivery to schedule a time. I would definitely use them for my future move and recommend them based on my experience to date.

This review is for Southeast Van Lines (also known as A Class Moving, Inc.) based in Stroudsburg, PA. This is NOT for the Southeast Van Lines based in Norcross, GA. My issue with this company started at pick-up. I spoke with customer rep Lauren Taylor who processed my estimate. During our conversation, I asked her if they are a moving company or moving brokers. She told me they are a moving company and that on the day of pick-up the movers would come in uniform with a company truck. On pick-up day, the movers, led by Yosef Ashdot, came in regular clothes in Penske truck. This was a concern, but not a major one, as I have dealt with brokers before with no issues; however, it led me to believe that this company could be disingenuous. I was originally given a total estimate of $1,385 by Lauren to move 1 king-size bed with a mattress, 1 king headboard, 1 double dresser with a mirror, 1 nightstand, 1 3-seat couch, 8 medium boxes, 1 55-inch tv, and 1 TV-stand from Baltimore to Houston. All of this was estimated to be 300 lbs./cu. ft. Upon pick-up, Yosef looks at my bed and says that only the frame for the bed was included and not the base; however, in the estimate it clearly says 1 king bed with a mattress and headboard. What kind of king bed doesn’t also have a base? I couldn’t argue much at this point because I had to move quickly and did not have enough time to get another mover. Yosef ESTIMATED this supposed addition to be 380 lbs./cu. ft. This change the original estimate from $1,305 to $1,653 without the fuel surcharge since they charge $4.35 per lb/cu. ft. Additionally, they claimed my TV stand had to be specially packed because it had glass shelves. The last company I used didn’t even need to disassemble the stand for them to pack it. This “specialty” packing included wrapping the glass in a quilt then placing it a flat cardboard box. The cost of packing these three pieces of glass and my tv was $216. With the fuel surcharge and their $50 COVID promotion, my total estimate went from $1,385 to $1,984! The biggest issue I have with this company currently is the delivery time. They picked up my belongings July 26 and I was able to accept my belongings August 1. At pick-up they did not provide an estimated time of delivery. By August 1, I still did not hear anything regarding my delivery date. I had serious trouble reaching anybody the first week in August which I found pretty ironic since the Yosef was very responsive when it came to updating him on the status of his payment I made electronically. On a side note, I believe the Yosef Ashdot is the only person working at the company besides Lauren and he just hires temps to help perform the job. The 1-888 number voicemail is the same voicemail he uses on his cell phone, which is always full by the way. The two times I was able to reach him I was told that my belongings were still in storage because they had a lot of deliveries or he was sick. None of that has anything to do with me. On August 10, I was finally given a delivery window between August 17 and August 24 from a random number and was told I would be notified 24 hours before delivery. I had to ask who they were because they didn’t identify themselves. As of August 22, I still don’t have my belongings and have not been notified when I would receive them. I know if I don’t hear anything in the next 24 hours I will be filing formal complaints with the department of transportation and the better business bureau. Dealing with this “company” has been a nightmare and needs to be avoided at all costs.

After using Southeast van lines for my relocation, I can sit back and say that the services I received were worth every dollar I paid. To be honest, at some point, I felt like I had paid less for the services I received. I mean the rates are so favorable that you enjoy working with them. They did it with diligence and a lot of professionalism of the highest order.

I have been using this moving company for a long time and I never needed to worry when I hired them. They always took care of me like family and moved me the way I wanted. They are very careful with all the things that are easily breakable and they move the furniture perfectly. They moved me many times and never did I get the chance to complain. Obviously we all hate moving, but this moving company makes your move painless and they do not let you do a single thing! I highly recommend Southeast van lines because I truly believe no one is better than them!

I was a bit spooked by other reviews but I needed a flexible company that would work with me for some unusual situations – I was not present at pickup for example. Their sales guy at Southeast van lines was great and gave me good advice and a very accurate quote and also was extremely helpful in following up. Everyone I dealt with was professional and capable. I received the calls I was promised about pickup and delivery so I could plan appropriately. My items were handled carefully and I was very pleased with the treatment of my things.

First, you will get a bid and think, ok this sounds great! But when they arrived at my home the price doubled and by the end of day another $600 was added! The person in charged mentioned wanting a tip for his guys. I wasn’t even there and when does someone ask for tip?! Trying to communicate with this company is a challenge! I was told last week my stuff would arrive last week. When I called a week ago Friday I was told his guy didn’t show up & he didn’t know what happened BUT he will know Sunday night (7/12). No return call on Monday, Tuesday…I called again on Friday (7/17) and was told oh he is on his way. I will text him and have him text or call you but it should be Sat or Sunday. I am still waiting for the text and/or phone call!

This move could not have gone any smoother and could not have been any easier. Having hired Southeast van lines for this move, we really did ourselves a favor. They came in and took care of not just the logistics, but all the packing as well! They even worked with a designer we hired for our new home to get the entire place put together. When I say I didn’t lift a finger at all when it came to taking care of this move I literally mean I didn’t lift a finger. I didn’t even have to use a hand to call them — I used voice call, and that, arguably, was the most “strenuous” activity I completed when it comes to this move as a whole. Excellent job and they will be receiving my full recommendation.
